Show the weekday from a date (TEXT / WEEKDAY)
A schedule sheet lists dates in A2:A5, but the report needs the weekday name next to each one. Fill Weekday in B2:B5 so each row shows an English abbreviation such as Wed or Mon. Use a formula that follows the date in column A — a hardcoded Wed fails as soon as A2 changes.
Your solution should use cell references so it updates automatically when Test Case input values change.
Notes
TEXT(A2,"ddd") formats a date as a three-letter English weekday (Mon–Sun). WEEKDAY(A2,2) returns 1–7 for Monday–Sunday; wrap it in CHOOSE to map those numbers to names. In Japanese Excel, TEXT(A2,"aaa") returns 月・火・水…, but this graded sheet expects English abbreviations so the in-browser engine can score it.

FAQ
How do I show the weekday from a date in Excel?
Use =TEXT(A2,"ddd") for Mon–Sun abbreviations, or =CHOOSE(WEEKDAY(A2,2),"Mon","Tue","Wed","Thu","Fri","Sat","Sun"). In Japanese Excel, =TEXT(A2,"aaa") returns 月・火・水…
What does WEEKDAY return?
WEEKDAY(date, 2) returns 1 for Monday through 7 for Sunday. Without the second argument, Sunday is 1. Pair it with CHOOSE or INDEX when you need a name instead of a number.
Why not use TEXT with aaa here?
In Japanese Excel, "aaa" is the short weekday format (月・火・水). This practice grades English abbreviations so the shared grader stays consistent; use TEXT("ddd") or WEEKDAY+CHOOSE on this sheet.
