Audit missing SKUs with ISNA
Before the price report ships, QA wants a simple audit answer for the SKU in E2: is it missing from the price list in A2:A6 or not? Put TRUE (missing) or FALSE (present) in the Missing? cell D2. This is an audit question — you want the TRUE/FALSE itself, not a wrapped-up message.
Your solution should use cell references so it updates automatically when Test Case input values change.
Notes
The error family splits in two: IFERROR/IFNA replace an error with a value; ISERROR/ISNA report the error as TRUE/FALSE. ISNA is the surgical one — TRUE only for #N/A (a miss), FALSE for everything else. ISERROR is TRUE for any error. Pairing ISNA with MATCH is the classic audit combo: MATCH finds position or returns #N/A, and ISNA turns that into a clean boolean.

FAQ
What is the difference between ISNA and ISERROR?
ISNA(x) is TRUE only when x is #N/A — a lookup miss. ISERROR(x) is TRUE for any error, including #REF!, #VALUE!, and #DIV/0!. For "is this value in the list?" audits, ISNA is precise; ISERROR would also report unrelated breakage as "missing".
How do I check if a VLOOKUP returned #N/A?
=ISNA(VLOOKUP(E2, A2:A6, 1, FALSE)) returns TRUE when the lookup missed. To act on it, wrap in IF: =IF(ISNA(VLOOKUP(…)), "Missing", "OK").
Why use ISNA instead of IFNA?
IFNA(value, fallback) replaces a miss with a value — it answers with data. ISNA answers with TRUE/FALSE — it's for audit columns, conditional formatting rules, and counting problems with =SUMPRODUCT(--ISNA(range)).
